Moel Ty Uchaf Stone Circle

I visited this wonderful Welsh stone circle back in December 2007 on a sunny bright winters day. It was a steep walk up to the top but once there well worth the effort. It felt like I was on top of the world!

Crowning the Hill of Highest House
With a mountain view that's simply amazing!
The climb is steep, the path is winding,
Past quartz sheep in numbers, busy grazing.

The climb it just goes on forever
Muscles like engines, limbs aching
Thank goodness for the sunny weather!
Breathless progress, slowly making.

Almost reaching the final slope,
Still not in sight, have I got lost?
Full of in trepidation and purest hope,
Shadowy patches sparkle with frost.

Hop over boulders and rabbit burrows,
The top is in sight I'm almost there!
Large quartz collections in stony furrows,
But still no stones, it just looks bare!

But as I ascend the highest peak
The stones appear in all their glory.
A sight so awesome so to speak,
Enter in the South East, a mystic story

Oh stone tiara high on the hill,
of sevenfold geometry & Chatres maze,
Visions of distant mountains fill,
The stones are blessed by shining rays

Moel ty Uchaf, Denbighshire Crown
Majestic teeth with central Kist
Over 1000 feet altitude sloping down.
Welsh valley bathed in swirling mist.
